In this sacred space, we come together not just as a congregation, but as a diverse and supportive family bound by our shared faith and love for God. As you step into our church, envision it not just as a physical structure, but as a haven for spiritual growth, community fellowship, and unwavering support.
ONE HEART -TWO LUNGS
St Matthew's Church a bilingual community of faith. We have different groups in English and Spanish, and just like Jesus called God his Father abba in his own mother tongue (Aramaic), we too worship God and pray in our own language.
Our model is taken from the letters of St Paul, when he reflected on the nature of the Church. We are one body, one parish, one community, one family. Just as a human body, we breathe through our two lungs. Each of the lungs has its own characteristics and needs, its richness and challenges, its uniqueness. But having both is what make us what we are, a very open, inclusive, friendly and welcoming family.

At Saint Matthew’s Parish we encourage all our members to serve in ministry. The Church is the Body of Christ in this world, and each one of us are members of it (1 Cor 2:27). As members of this Body, we truly are His hands, His feet and His eyes in our world. To be a Christian, then, is to be committed to action, to living out our faith through service to one another: Jesus said, "The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve." (Mark 10:45). We are Christians, we are the Church, we are the Body of Christ, not to be served but to serve and every member of our parish as something to offer towards the Mission of the Church.

HOSPITALITY
Love to smile? Outgoing? Enjoy hosting guests? In hospitality we want to create a warm and friendly atmosphere by serving people, greeting people and answering basic inquiries.

Building community means food. If you enjoy cooking, serving or creating opportunities for people to connect then this would be your place to get involved.

Service
Lots happens behind the scenes to create beautiful services. This is a good mix between behind-the-scene roles through set up and organizing, or assisting during Mass.
Facilities &Administrative Support
Speaking of things that happen “on the background”... This ministry is all about administrative projects (requiring varying degrees of skill), or building setup, teardown and maintenance. If you enjoy hands-on tasks, computer work or helping to organize then this is the place for you.
Choir
Central to serving here are uplifting voices. If you can sing we would love to talk to you.
Do you have a heart for the next generation? We want to ignite young people and teenagers and help them start the discipleship journey on the right foot. Faith-filled adults and teenagers who are a few steps ahead on the journey are needed to help us fulfil this dream.
